Question by Mike: Question about Januvia for Type 2 Diabetes?
My Doctor is considering putting me on Januvia, depending on what my A1c results are, coming up.
I cannot take Metformin because of the side effects.
Are there any of you taking or have been on Januvia, and what are your thoughts about this medicine.

My thoughts on all medications for type two diabetes are as follows…
If you can’t deal with adopting a healthy diet and exercising each day, then learn to deal with the side effects of the medication(s), or learn to inject insulin. It’s really that simple.
I took Metformin for many years. I dealt with the side effects. I hated them. I learned that through a healthy, natural foods based diet with all of it’s nutrients, I could lower my insulin resistance better than any medication in existence. I also learned that plenty of moderate daily exercise lowers blood sugar better than any medication as well. If you’re not willing to make a major change in lifestyle, then go ahead and go down that road of trying different medications. If you are willing to do what it takes to get off the medications, then read my profile.
