Question by Jenni: what are the interactions with xanax and vistaril?
my doctor has put me on vistaril for my anxiety attacks an i have never taken it before. so i am a bit scared of how it will make me feel. i have been taking xanax (.5)for the attacks, but she wants me to change to vistaril. i am also on paxil (10) and trazadone (50). will the vistaril work as quickly as the xanex or is it something that has to get into your system before you can tell a difference?

This medication is used to treat anxiety and also is used to treat some allergies.
Xanax is used only as an anti-anxiety medication.
This medicine should relieve your anxiety as quickly as Xanax does. It also doesn’t cause addicition as Xanax can.Maybe this is why your doctor wanted you to switch.
Each person reacts differently to different medications ,and side effects very from person to person.
You have the right to discuss with your doctor the reasons why she is switching you from Xanax to this medicine.
