Each person responds to medication differently. Pain levels and tolerance are also unique to each individual. There are no ceilings on pure opioids so while I may need 100mg morphine, someone else may need 300mg morphine. Just as no one can tell me what the best pain medication for me is…. no one can advise you that medication X is the best or strongest.
Different types of pain require a different approach. Pain is treated using many types of medication- anti-depressants, anti-seizure, nsaids, opioids, etc.
You need to find a doctor who understands pain and is willing to treat you and get your pain to a manageble level.
For everyone these meds work differently..

This is why I cannot tell you what works best, I don’t like any of these, I am on something different
I am on fentanyl patch 150mcg (100& 50-2 patches) every 2 days – It looks like i am one of the rare people that need it prescribed this way according the above reference.
I prefer this because It is not in pill form and that is what i like the best.
Maybe something besides medication would work for you, you can have it in addition, but you wont have to take so much– or there is the option of a Pain Pump from medtronics http://medtronics.com
this is my Next step.
Now what has worked for me and You didnt exactly say where your pain was, but I have 2 spinal column stimulators to help cover all the areas of pain I have. They can put leads all along the spinal column. i have some sacral, lumbar and thoracic leads and next we may think about cervical disk for my neck.
These things are amazing I was in so much pain and on many more meds then the the fentanyl, going to physical therapy, getting epidural injections etc… that I was skeptical.
I did not like the trial, and I wasnt going to go thru with the implant, but I did so anyway and feel blessed I did so.
IF YOU ARE IN MAJOR PAIN and want relief, I would definitly discuss this with your dr and get a referral to go to a Pain management specialist.
I suggest that you Go to
